World's thinnest "hand-torn steel" successful developed

At the beginning of 2018, after more than 700 times failures, the world's thinnest "hand-torn steel" of 0.02mm was successfully developed. Just three months later, the thickness of the "hand torn steel" was further rolled from 0.02 mm to 0.015 mm, setting a new world record. In 2021, China Baowu Tiscol Group made a new breakthrough in the research and development of "hand-torn steel". After the thickness jumped from 0.02mm to 0.015mm, the R&D staff continued to explore for better performance. It's as thin as a cicada, only a sixth as thick as a human hair, and it's worth gold. "Hand-torn steel" is the favorite of aerospace and other sophisticated fields, known as "the crown pearl of the steel industry". This ultra-thin stainless steel is the core material for a special "coat" that can be made into a new composite material that heats up instantly to quickly de-ice aircraft wings. This "coat" successfully put on, not only can greatly reduce the energy consumption of the aircraft, but also can greatly reduce the huge safety risks brought by the flight of hanging ice in the air. This stainless steel is rolled out of the special process of "hand torn steel".
Wang Tianxiang, senior engineer of China Baowu Tisco Precision Strip Company: It is the thinnest stainless steel in the world and can be widely used in China's high-end manufacturing and military aerospace fields. We have pricing power.
So far, the ultimate thickness of the "hand-torn steel" developed by Wang Tianxiang's team is only 0.015 millimeters. In addition to thickness, the flatness and smoothness of "hand-torn steel" is also an important evaluation standard. The hand-torn steel used on the aircraft is not only thin, but also shows many excellent additional properties of high strength, high hardness and high resistance value.
The reporter learned in the interview, the price of a ton of conventional sheet steel is 20,000 yuan/ton, too steel fine belt production of 0.015 mm thickness of stainless steel price as high as 2 million CNY/Ton, even if the price is still in short supply.
